The idea was to develop a table from the principles of structural forces, with a self-contained flow of tension and compression.
The cable, acting as the central “lifeline”, tensions the wooden legs and the connected metal components into the tabletop without the use of screws or fixed connections. If this lifeline is cut, the entire table collapses in on itself.
The motor=“the structural mechanism beneath the tabletop” continuously ensures that the tension is maintained, allowing the tabletop to appear as if it is floating above. Should the tension decrease over the years, you can easily readjusted through a central threaded mechanism.
The table and all of its individual components are manufactured in Switzerland, from the sourcing of materials and processing to the final finishing. Each table undergoes careful quality control and is precisely refined down to the smallest detail.
This is not a mass-produced object; each table is unique. The tabletop, wooden legs and metal components can be individually configured in terms of material and colour, and adapted to personal preferences.
The starting price for one table is CHF 7,900, with a black multiplex tabletop and oak legs.

Introduction
My creative process was strongly shaped during my year abroad in Florence, where, alongside my further education, I discovered painting for myself and deepened my engagement with art. Out of this development emerged, among other works, the table “Der Spanner” — an object whose original idea is derived from the motif of a lifeline.
Driven by a mechanism beneath the tabletop, it combines technical constancy with a delicate, almost floating aesthetic.
I understand my painting as an experimental approach to colour, form and material. It serves as a means of questioning perception and reorganising it in new ways.
All works shown on this website are available for purchase. The proceeds go towards the realisation of further projects.
